This evening brought awful news. The Baltimore Ravens’ head coach recently fired two players due to…

When the Ravens signed Broderick Washington back in August to a three-year, $17.5 million extension, the move seemed like a solid one by GM Eric DeCosta. Washington appeared to be blossoming as an interior defender. However, the signing begged the question, “What about Justin Madubuike?”

Madubuike and Washington were both 2020 draft picks in the 3rd and 5th rounds, respectively. Madubuike, clearly the better of the two, seemed like the more logical candidate for an extension. And recently we learned that EDC did in fact try to extend Madubuike but they couldn’t agree on a number.

Ravens’ DT @JustinMadubuike picked a great time to have his best NFL season, already piling up 10 sacks already with his contract set to expire after this season.

Madubuike bet on himself and with each passing game, each registered sack, the number to retain him swells. EDC will have a very challenging offseason and using the franchise tag on the team sack leader might be one of his plays.
