FINAL DEAL: He agreed to a four-year, $75,000-million contract with Southampton.

Southampton-based shipping firm Acclaim Logistics has acquired Isle of Wight company Steve Porter Transport Group, based in Cowes, it was reported.

Nearly 20 of the Steve Porter team, including former managing director, Malcolm Gibson, have been reportedly taken on by Acclaim.

The parent company behind Steve Porter Transport entered administration in September this year.
Acclaim Logistics has also absorbed the former firm’s Cowes depot, increasing its warehouse space from to 15,000 sq ft from 8,000 sq ft, it was also reported.

Thomas Flood, the managing director of Acclaim Logistics was quoted as saying the expansion enhanced the company’s “capacity to meet growing demands” and further solidifies its commitment to “providing efficient and reliable logistical solutions for Island-based businesses”.

Independently owned Acclaim Logistics said it offers a range of distribution services which cater for single documents to full artic loads.
