RAVENS RB KEATON MITCHELL OUT FOR SEASON

The Baltimore Ravens’ fear came true Monday following their 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, as a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport confirmed that standout rookie running back Keaton Mitchell suffered a torn ACL on Sunday.

“Keaton Mitchell, one of their bright young stars with breakout ability, has suffered an ACL tear, sources said after the MRI,” Rapoport writes. “His season is over but he should make a full recovery.”

After missing the first five games of the season due to injury, Mitchell quickly became an impact player for the Ravens, accumulating 396 yards and two touchdowns on 47 carries in just eight games.

RAVENS RB KEATON MITCHELL LIKELY DONE FOR SEASON

Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell likely suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday night’s 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mitchell was having an excellent game, picking up 73 rushing yards as well as two receptions for 15 yards, until early in the fourth quarter when he suffered a stomach-turning knee injury that led to him being helped off the field and then carted to the locker room. Mitchell was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game and is thought to be lost for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Baltimore will sign Melvin Gordon to the active roster to add depth

The Ravens also lost safety Marcus Williams on the last play of the first half to a groin injury and offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley to concussion protocol.

Mitchell was carted to the locker room and has been ruled OUT for the remainder of the game.

Ravens free safety Geno Smith was in on the first possession of the second half for the Jags, as Marcus Williams was apparently injured on the last play of the first half while making the touchdown-saving tackle on Zay Jones.
