Leicester City owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha is reportedly set to arrive in the UK this week to help the club with their search to appoint a new manager.
Brendan Rodgers was informed of the end of his four-year tenure at Seagrave on Sunday morning, after the players reported to training to discuss the loss to Crystal Palace. Rodgers’ five-and-a-half-year contract, signed in December 2019, included a £10 million compensation clause, though it is unclear whether he received the settlement after leaving by “mutual agreement.”
Dropping into the bottom three after the Palace defeat left Khun Top with no choice but to try to reverse the situation by appointing a new manager with 10 games remaining. According to the Daily Mail, Khun Top, chief executive Susan Whelan, and director of football Jon Rudkin “do not yet have a definite idea” of who the successor may be.
However, four names have been mentioned. Rafael Benitez, Jesse Marsch, and Ralph Hasenhuttl have all successfully led their teams out of relegation trouble.
However, Adi Hutter, the former Borussia Monchengladbach manager, is said to be a leftfield option. For the time being, first-team coach Adam Sadler and goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell will lead the team against Aston Villa on Tuesday (7:45pm).
Rodgers led Leicester to their first FA Cup in 2021, their first European semi-final, and two consecutive Premier League fifth-place finishes.
