Fabrizio Romano: Leicester City shortlist final three professional coaches as interview date schedule

Apart from Rafa Benitez, who has been linked with the Leicester job since Sunday, there are a few other candidates being considered. Three coaches on the radar, Ralph Hassenhuttl, Oscar Garcia, and Jesse Marsch, share the ‘Red Bull structure’ profile.

Brendan Rodgers’ four-year reign as manager of Leicester City ended this week. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club is considering several candidates as they look for the right manager to help them avoid relegation, and one of them is Marsch.

Former Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has been ‘in the frame’ for the job since Sunday, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The journalist also names three other coaches whom the club is ‘considering’.

Former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, former Brighton manager Oscar Garcia, and former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch are said to be ‘on the radar’ to take over. All four managers are currently unemployed, including Benitez.

Leicester has also been linked with Rafa Benitez, but the veteran manager isn’t the only one on the club’s radar. Leicester are also considering several managers from the Red Bull system, with Marsch named as a candidate alongside Oscar Garcia and Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Jesse Marsch

has been unemployed since his dismissal from Leeds United in February. After being linked with both the USMNT and a return to the club game in Europe, the American coach recently stated that he is taking time to reassess his future.

Ralph Hassenhuttl left Southampton in November, and Garcia left Reims in October. Marsch left Leeds earlier this year after less than a year, and Benitez has been without a club since leaving Everton in January 2022.

Graham Potter, who left Chelsea just hours after the City job became available, has also been linked to the club. It remains to be seen whether he would be willing to return to management so quickly, given reports that he is eager to take a break.
