Leicester City drop list of 3 Brazilian stars as key summer transfer target

Leicester City are in a tough financial position but the Foxes will need to keep an eye out for potential summer targets regardless.

Leicester City are looking to cast a wide net in their search for new stars too. Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon has said ‘top spy’ Sean St Ledger has been looking at a couple of targets in Brazil.

The players on the radar of St Ledger – who used to play for the Foxes and Preston North End – are not named.

Here though, we pick out three Brazilian stars that should be on the radars of Leicester City…

Jhon Arias – Fluminense

Leicester City were alongside Leeds United in reportedly eyeing Colombian winger Arias ahead of the Copa Libertadores final earlier this season.

The 26-year-old mainly plays on the right-hand side but can operate anywhere across the front three. He has 33 goals and 26 assists in 156 games for Fluminense and could thrive in Europe if given the chance.

Fabricio Bustos – Internacional

Given the financial concerns, it would be wise for the Foxes to keep potential cheap options in mind too. Four-time Argentina international full-back Bustos could be one.

His deal is up at the end of this calendar year and the 27-year-old is another who could benefit from a shot in Europe. Bustos has proven himself in both Brazil and Argentina and could be tempted by a shot in England after an entire career in South America.

Thiago Borbas – RB Bragantino

Last but not least is Uruguayan attacker Borbas, who looks to have a bright future ahead of him. After impressing for River Plate Montevideo in his native, Borbas has managed 17 goals and four assists for RB Bragantino.

The 22-year-old has a lo of senior experience to his name for a young striker and given some of Leicester’s striker problems this season, he could be an attractive option.
