Paul Merson has shared his score prediction for Manchester City’s upcoming game against Nottingham Forest.
On Thursday night, the Blues beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0 away from home in the Premier League to put them one point behind Arsenal at the top of the table with a game in hand.
With that game out of the way, the Manchester club will be in action once again this weekend as they travel to the Midlands to take on Forest.
Looking ahead to what is another crucial weekend of fixtures in the title race, the race to secure European football and the scramble to avoid relegation, one pundit has shared his thoughts on how City’s latest match could pan out.
Merson drops prediction for City vs Forest
In his latest column for Sportskeeda where he previewed and predicted the scores for all of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Merson had this to say about City’s trip to Forest.
He said: “Forest are alright at home but they haven’t got a result against a top-six side this season, so I can’t see anything but a Manchester City win here. Nottingham Forest 0-3 Manchester City.
Back in September, City best Forest 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.
There’s a big gap between City and Forest
At this stage of the season, the Midlands club find themselves just one place and one point above the relegation zone, having won seven, drawn nine and lost 18 of their 34 games.
Across their 34 games, Forest have also scored 42 goals and conceded 60, which is 38 fewer than City have scored and 28 more than they’ve conceded.
This makes it easy to see why Merson thinks the Blues will walk away from Sunday’s game with three points and another step towards potentially regaining the Premier League title.
