Newcastle Utd drops strong advice to Eddie Howe as club yet to decide on Harry Kane and Isak

Newcastle United has sent stern advise to Eddie Howe, as the club has yet to make a decision on Harry Kane and Isak Dagba.

Andy Cole believes Newcastle United do not require Harry Kane since they already have Alexander Isak leading the line.

Isak’s first season at St James’ Park was plagued by injury, but the Swede has made a strong comeback since the turn of the year.

The 23-year-old has scored five goals in five outings and has eight league goals in 13 appearances overall.

He has an average of 0.88 goals per 90 minutes in the Premier League and is displaying the characteristics that persuaded Newcastle to pay a club-record fee of £63 million for him in the summer.

Furthermore, Callum Wilson has 10 league goals in 22 games, and former Newcastle and Manchester United striker Cole believes the Magpies do not need to sign another striker.

“Newcastle don’t need to sign Harry Kane because they already have a very good centre-forward in Alexander Isak, who I really like,” Cole told King Casinos.

“Isak has recently scored a few goals, and he provides something completely different to Callum Wilson.” Isak is more mobile, has tremendous awareness, and can take the ball on the half-turn.

“With Isak and Wilson as backups, I’d be surprised if Newcastle tried to sign anyone other than Kane.”
