Nuno Espirito Santo is likely to receive a touchline ban following his comments after the Nottingham Forest and Everton game, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke suggested the Forest manager was “very angry” in his post-match press conference after his side saw three penalty shouts turned down.
The club posted a controversial statement on Twitter after the game, where they criticised the match officials for their role in the 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park on 21 April.
Forest claimed they had warned PGMOL before the fixture took place that VAR official Stuart Attwell was a Luton Town fan, but that it decided not to change the appointment.
O’Rourke expects the club to receive a “hefty fine”, with Nuno and right-back Neco Williams also likely to be punished for their comments after the full-time whistle.

Forest have been widely condemned since they decided to publicly vent their frustrations towards the officials.
There have been reports the club’s owner Evangelos Marinakis wanted to put the statement out at half-time after two penalty appeals were turned down in the first half.
PGMOL chief Howard Webb has admitted Nuno’s side should have been awarded a penalty for a foul by Ashley Young on Callum Hudson-Odoi in the second half.
That isn’t likely to be enough to get Forest, Nuno or Williams off the hook, however, as the FA and the Premier League both confirmed they are investigating the matter.
The last thing the club need is further sanctions after they were already deducted four points this season for breaching the league’s spending rules.
But it’s likely some kind of punishment will be handed out to the three parties at the City Ground following their reactions to the controversy.
