Rangers are moving quickly in the transfer market ahead of what is sure to be a busy time for Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen.
The manager already looks to have snapped up Jefte from Fluminense with Jose Cordoba also said to be imminent, but it is the other end of the park that is most worrying for some.
The strikers have scored enough goals between them this season – despite the various high-profile misses – but the biggest issue was the lack of wingers that Philippe Clement could call on for Rangers to make a difference.
Oscar Cortes reveals Rangers move talks
Other than Abdallah Sima, there has been very little productivity from wide areas in terms of goals and assists.
Modern football might be about more than that, however, at Rangers, it is numbers that count at the sharp end of the pitch.
One player who looked like they could be a difference maker was Oscar Cortes who, speaking to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, has given an update on his potential move to Rangers in the summer:
“Me and my agents are keeping tabs on the negotiations that are taking place.
“We will see what happens. I’m talking to my agents and also to Lens and Rangers. Let’s see what happens. I am waiting.
“I’m doing well now, after everything that has happened.
“There were obviously difficult times, but I think that with the help of all the people I have around me they helped me a lot, and they have helped me to be calm in my head as well.
“I arrived and started to do things very well and well unfortunately the injury came, and I had to stop for three months but I thank God I am already in the recovery process.”
