Newcastle United setting eagle eyes to sign £20m 24-year-old Leeds United star

Newcastle United have been keeping an eye on Tyler Adams after his outstanding season at the heart of the Leeds United midfield.

According to an article in The Times, which examines which players are likely to move on if the various teams in the present struggle get relegated from the Premier League this season.

Leeds, of course, had the opportunity to move five points clear of the drop zone in their final two home games. However, two terrible performances have dropped Javi Gracia’s team into the bottom three.

Certainly, any hope that the loss to Crystal Palace was an exception has vanished. The team’s performance against Liverpool on Monday was significantly worse.

There are a couple of mitigating factors. And one of those is that Leeds have been without Tyler Adams since just before the international break.

The USMNT international has proved to be an inspired signing in midfield. He seems to be one of the few leaders within the squad. And he provides the side with real balance.

Losing him to injury was a big blow. And should we get relegated and Adams not be ready by the end of the season, there is a chance that he has already made his final appearance for Leeds.

We wouldn’t be surprised if he left this summer. According to The Times, Newcastle is one of the clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old.

The Magpies have had an incredible season, which could culminate with them qualifying for the Champions League next year.

They have not made any investments in outstanding players. Instead, they have targeted those with significant room for improvement.

Adams has showed glimpses of what he is capable of doing in his first season in the Premier League. He was’special’ at times.

And if Leeds fail, we will struggle to make a significant profit on the £20 million we invested on him in the first place. So you can see why the clubs are circling.
