Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate has vowed that the squad will “fight” for every point until the end of the season as the club fights relegation back to the Championship.
The Reds faced Manchester United at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon with the potential to move out of the bottom three. However, strikes from Antony and Diego Dalot either side of halftime saw Forest lose 2-0.
The loss keeps Steve Cooper’s side in the relegation zone on goal differential ahead of the weekend trip to Anfield to face Liverpool. When they face Jurgen Klopp’s side, Forest will be hoping to snap a 10-game winless streak.
Following the game versus United, in which Niakhate played the entire 90 minutes, the defender took to social media to address fans about the club’s struggle for safety this season.

Following the defeat, the 27-year-old reiterated his message in an interview with the club’s official website. The defender stated again that he is ‘convinced’ that the Reds can still win the league this season.
