Jaylen Brown bold predictions for Celtics vs. Mavericks NBA Finals

Jaylen Brown is in his eighth NBA season, and this will be his second trip to the NBA Finals. His first appearance was a disappointing one, but Brown’s improvement has been immense over the past couple of seasons. As a three-time All Star and one-time second-team All-NBA selection, Brown is on the perfect track to capture his first NBA Championship.

The Boston Celtics will be led by Brown and Jayson Tatum as they are in pursuit of beating the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 Finals. Brown earned the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals MVP, which was a brilliant feat for the budding star. With all the momentum and confidence on Brown’s hands, playing on the court against the Mavericks to wrap up an impeccable campaign will be a fantastic sight for the Celtics fanbase.

It will be an arduous and grueling series for Brown, but here are a couple of predictions for his 2024 NBA Finals

Jaylen Brown limits Luka Doncic to less than 40% FG in at least two games

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (7) attempts to score during the second quarter during game four of the eastern conference finals for the 2024 NBA playoffs at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

In the two regular season victories for Boston, Brown was the main man tasked in containing Luka Doncic. He still had an impressive showing against the Celtics, but Brown made him work for a plethora of possessions. The strength and basketball IQ of Doncic is spectacular, thus it makes Brown the best option to try and stay in front of him.

The Mavericks will have a bevy of schemes to force either Kristaps Porzingis or Al Horford defend Doncic in the perimeter, but the Celtics will have counters to limit these kind of situations. Boston is a squad that has the least tendency to blitz ball handlers on pick-and-roll situations, so let’s see how they will contain Doncic. Several defensive options will be great for the Celtics, but it will be a high likelihood for Brown to be the main reason for Doncic’s down games
