SAD NEWS: As three-time Olympic medallist Tori Bowie died as a result of complications related to childbirth

As the 2024 Olympics in Paris get closer, one athlete, who should have been in the midst of discussion for medals at the Track and Field Events is the former fastest woman in the world and three-time Olympic medallist.

Tori Bowie ( August 27, 1990 – April 23, 2023)

The American Athlete according to reports died as a result of complications related to childbirth.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil, Tori was a masterpiece in the 100 and 200 metres events, she was the reason why there wasn’t a Jamaican clean sweep in the 100m, she finished in 10.83 ahead of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and behind Elaine Thompson-Herah.

At the 200m., she won the Bronze medal in a time of 22.15 behind Dutch Dafine Schippers and Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson, who made a double Gold in Rio.

At the same event, she was the Anchor leg for Team USA in the Women’s 4x100m final when they won Gold in 41.01s ahead of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce-inspired Jamaican side.

The following year she won the World Championship in the 100m event with a remarkable comeback, defeating the Olympic Champion Elaine Thompson-Herah ( you need to watch it ).

Marie Ta Lou was leading the pack and very assured of winning the race, surprisingly Tori sprung up and caught up to Ta Lou then went tumbling over and won the race on a photo finish.

Marie Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast was already celebrating before the billboard show Tori Bowie with a season Best of 10.85s while the latter got a Personal Best of 10.86s.

A remarkable .01 second margin of victory is embedded in history.

Injuries limited her career after the 2019 World Championships and she did not compete at the 2020 USA Olympic Trial.

Tori Bowie was a great Athlete and a god-fearing woman.

We hope the International Olympic Committee and the World Athletics will honour her in Paris.

This is the first Olympic after her demise.
