Leicester City finally release list of six players to leave as as Steve Cooper ready to sign former striker

The Leicester City players most likely to exit this summer have been named. Will there be a mass exodus at King Power Stadium as predicted by journalists? Or will Steve Cooper have another bloated squad to deal with like at Nottingham Forest?

In addition to outgoing predictions for the east Midlands side, there are further incoming transfers expected too. The Foxes are now told to specifically sign one of these referenced proven goalscorers by an LCFC expert. Are Leicester going to acquire an extra striker for a surely challenging Premier League season? Or shall match-winners emerge from elsewhere on the field?

Foxes chase new centre forward with many options linked and put forward

This coming campaign is likely to be more ‘Great Escape’ than ‘ The Incredibles’, to be candid. Well, the Blue Army will hope the team can survive the trials and tribulations that await them in the top-flight, in any way, shape or form.

One of the main factors in survival is to not concede loads of goals. But, arguably, having a competent attack is even more crucial than the defence being solid. I would submit that a deft balance of both is actually imperative.

However, Leicester are said to be in the market for another striker; it must be the case that further certified goalscorers will help. But the appropriate footballers must be chosen.

There are three other senior centre forwards at LCFC: Patson Daka, Jamie Vardy and Tom Cannon. The trio will all expect minutes in the starting lineup this year. So, unless one of the aforementioned group leaves City during the current offseason, I cannot see an EPL-standard forward arriving on Filbert Way.

Nevertheless, the Foxes may now reportedly revive their interest in ex-Espanyol hitman Martin Braithwaite. His prospective move to Olympiakos fell through so Leicester might go in for the Denmark international, who is a definite goal-getter.

Yet having goals from all over the pitch is preferable to relying on just one man. Could a notable attacking midfielder/support striker be targeted. Jordan Blackwell of Leicester Mercury urged City to consider signing Sammie Szmodics, who they were previously been linked.

Leicester City could offload these unwanted stars very soon

The same City-focused reporter has also proposed other deals the King Power club can make. Selling a few undesired personnel, to be precise.

Many Foxes will now be under manager Steve Cooper’s microscope. The futures of Harry Souttar, Victor Kristiansen, Boubakary Soumare, Daka, Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen are considered respectively precarious.
