Leeds United have two new American board members in Andrew Schwartzberg and Eugene Schneur as another senior figure takes a step back with official documents submitted to Companies House.
Insider Media reported on 23 July that Schwartzberg, part of the majority ownership group at NBA side Charlotte Hornets, had been appointed to the board as the new vice-chairman at Elland Road.
The Athletic added that [23 July], with Schneur also coming on board as part of the club’s senior leadership team, Rudy Cline-Thomas will step down from his role as vice-chairman, albeit remains a “significant investor”.
The appointments of Schwartzberg as vice-chairman, and Schneur as a club director, have now been official ratified with Companies House, as has the termination of Cline-Thomas’ role on the board [23 July].

Since their defeat to Southampton in May’s Championship play-off final, the Whites have undergone arguably more off the field than they have on it as they prepare for another shot at top-flight promotion.
While incoming transfer business has been slow thus far – though could ramp up following the arrival of Jaden Bogle [20 July] – the headline departure has been Archie Gray’s £40million move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Such a fee has helped the club to alleviate any profit and sustainability worries, as has the massive finance brought in by Red Bull’s record-breaking sponsorship deal, who have also purchased a stake.
It’s clear that such deals don’t come along too often for the average second-tier club, and is a sign that if Daniel Farke’s side are promoted in 2025, the United board want to take the Premier League by storm.
Regardless of movements upstairs and however many investors come on board, on the pitch is where all must come to fruition, and Leeds have little room for error with the season fast approaching.
