Fabrizio Romano confirms Leicester set for signing today as other deal dead

Transfer oracle Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Leicester City are interested in a quality Arsenal winger. In fact, the Italian journalist claims that the Foxes are actually in talks for the Englishman. As previously alluded to, Reiss Nelson has huge Premier League-promise and is definitely of a high calibre. Will the east Midlands team get this one over the line for the new season? LCFC bosses and recruitment are said to be ‘confident’ of doing so.

However, one prospective high profile deal at King Power Stadium has died on the vine. Leicester had chased Argentine wingman Matias Soule, but alas, the Juventus wideman has supposedly chosen his next club. And that outfit is not in the English top-flight, but Italy’s Serie A. It seems as though City, their Midlands rivals Aston Villa, northern team Newcastle United and Londoners Crystal Palace will all miss out on Soule.

Leicester City fail to sign Matias Soule – report

Soule would have been an ideal addition to the Leicester roster, as Foxes of Leicester see the situation. The former Frosinone loanee was exceptional for the Lazio-based club in 2023/24.

There were high hopes, especially amongst the Blue Army, that the Argentina prospect would be able to replicate his efforts from a successful last campaign in the EPL. Juve fans at his parent side wanted him to stay as well, so we hear.

Although, Soule won’t be coming to Filbert Way this year, at least. And he’s not staying with the Old Lady, either. He has reportedly informed superiors that he wishes to permanently join Roma. Hopefully the 20-year-old makes it to Britain in the future as he appears to be a special talent.

Reiss Nelson would be a perfect Foxes signing – opinion on Fabrizio Romano’s report

When Romano authenticates something – every football supporter listens! And the Leicester fan base was happy to get a mention, and a boost, when addressed by the famed reporter on Wednesday lunchtime

Romano affirmed that LCFC are interested in taking the attacker on loan. And that potentially exciting temporary switch shall contain an obligation (not an option) for City to buy. Mikel Arteta’s representatives, Nelson’s people and the Leicestershire outfit are apparently in negotiations as I type.

Would the 24-year-old be a solid acquisition? 100 per cent, in my view. The Arsenal outcast is exactly the type of profile, in both senses of the word, that we need at the King Power.
