BREAKING NEWS: Leeds United set to sign Player compared to David Beckham after serious bid made

Fresh from losing Crysencio Summerville to West Ham, Leeds are now looking to make reinforcements to bounce back.

Daniel Farke now has an extra chunk of cash to spend in the transfer market as the Dutchman moves to the London Stadium – and one target is tempted to make the switch to Elland Road after a bid was made.

So, who is now considering a move to Leeds? Let’s take a look…

Dejan Ljubicic now tempted to join Leeds

A story from BILD in Germany now states that Dejan Ljubicic is considering his future after receiving an offer from Leeds.

The German news outlet believe FC Koln want a “mega” bid to sell the Austria international, although in context, that could only mean a sum in the region of £8m to £10m as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

It comes after Leeds saw a €4m (£3.4m) bid for Ljubicic rejected by FC Koln at the end of July as the 2.Bundesliga outfit attempted to tie him down to a new deal.

However, BILD make it seem as if the Austrian’s head has been turned by interest from Leeds.

Interestingly, the article adds that Red Bull’s involvement at Elland Road may actually aid negotiations, due to the franchise’s influence in German football.

Ljubicic – who was recently compared to David Beckham – started the 2024/25 campaign in excellent form on Friday, providing an assist in the 2.Bundesliga opener against Hamburger SV.

It comes after the FC Koln No.7 provided two assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances last season.

Austrian would bring plenty of class to Elland Road

Leeds fans love those players who ooze technical ability, just like Pablo Hernandez provided on a regular basis during his four years at Elland Road.

In Ljubicic, Farke could get his own magician.

The 26-year-old was not compared to Beckham for nothing, as he boasts great technical ability in his right foot. Just take a look at the immense strike below as an example of his fine technique.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation – as aforesaid, Ljubicic has already entered the final 12 months of his contract at FC Koln, so the German side may consider a sale, or else they risk losing him for nothing in 2025.
