Leeds United are expected to be busy in the transfer market over the next couple of weeks with The Whites looking to spend the cash raked in from Crysencio Summerville’s move to West Ham United.
Leeds are expected to bring in more cover at left-back or full-back as a whole. The Whites also want a midfielder, as well as a replacement for Summerville following his move, which has cost an initial £25m.
The 49ers will be working hard behind the scenes to bring in new signings as Daniel Farke’s attention turns to on-field matters with the season underway, after drawing with Portsmouth 3-3 on Saturday.
One player Leeds have been linked with over the weekend is Chelsea talent Bashir Humphreys, with the 21-year-old expected to leave Stamford Bridge either on loan or on a permanent basis this summer.

England U21 defender Humphreys has only ever played twice for Chelsea’s first team but he did clock up 27 appearances for Swansea on loan last season, before injury saw him lose his place in the Swansea side.
Fabrizio Romano initially reported that Leeds and Burnley wanted the defender, before it was said that Leeds had actually made a bid for Humphreys. A player with three caps for Lee Carsley’s England U21’s.
It is unclear how Chelsea have responded to the bid, but given the revolving door at Stamford Bridge over the last couple of seasons it is likely that Humphreys finds he is on his way out in the coming weeks.
Southgate actually called Humphreys up to England training
It is a regular occurrence for Southgate and other National Team managers to include U21 players in senior training when a first-team star pulls out injured and Humphreys benefitted at the start of 2023-24.
Ahead of games against Ukraine and Scotland in September 2023, Southgate called-up trio Humphreys, Alfie Devine and Lewis Hall to first-team training according to a report from The Athletic last season.
Clearly then, a player of immense potential but one that needs to find the right home for him to shine. Whether that is Leeds is another question, given The Whites are well stocked in the middle of defence.
