Daniel farke name the three players that could replace Georginio Rutter in todays game against westbrom

Daniel Farke has confirmed Georginio Rutter will join Brighton in the next couple of days after saying goodbye to Leeds United, and the Frenchman will not be around for Saturday’s clash at West Brom.

Brighton have activated a £40m clause in Rutter’s contract and now, Farke has confirmed that Rutter will be joining The Seagulls. A signing is unlikely before Saturday but there are three players Farke can turn to.

Here are the three players Farke could use in the no.10 role on Saturday, at The Hawthorns:

Joel Piroe

Piroe started in the 10 role on Wednesday night and played much of the first half of last season as the club’s first choice no.10. But the Dutchman has struggled in that position of late, and was poor last night.

It is quite clear that after a year at Leeds, the £16m signing is best up top. The manager would be wasting a player against West Brom if he elects to put Piroe in attacking midfield against Carlos Corberan’s side.

Joe Rothwell

A better option than Piroe would be to use on-loan Bournemouth man Rothwell slightly higher than the position he has been signed for. Rothwell has joined as cover in the middle of the park this summer.

The 29-year-old was perhaps Leeds’ only bright spark against Middlesbrough last night but his creativity is perhaps best used where he has some space and can create from deep, but a better option than Piroe.Joe Rothwell of Leeds United in action during the friendly match between Leeds United and Valencia at Elland Road on August 03, 2024 in Leeds, Engl...

Brenden Aaronson

The USA star is surely Farke’s best bet to use as a no.10 on Saturday. The American impressed as a sub against Portsmouth, even if he should have scored twice – catching the eye when he moved centrally.

On Wednesday, he was used as a left winger but like the rest of the Leeds side, could not get going as Middlesbrough got everything right. At West Brom, Aaronson might be Farke’s best current bet at 10.
