Wrexham’s transfer business appears to have slowed to a snail’s pace as they close in on deadline day.
With the end of the summer transfer window fast approaching, Wrexham are looking to add another striker to their ranks.
With their top scorer out, Phil Parkinson has opted to deploy Jack Marriott and Ollie Palmer as a partnership up top for the most part, with Steven Flecther coming off the bench – including in their opening weekend win over Wycombe Wanderers when he scored their third goal.
Wrexham have managed ok without Mullin but it is clear, especially after a goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers last week, that another centre-forward is required.
A plethora of strikers have been tipped to make a move to the Racecourse Ground over the summer.
Lincoln City to sign Wrexham transfer target
Wrexham wanted to sign Luton Town forward John McAtee but he opted to move to League One rivals, Bolton.
Tottenham striker Will Lankshear was of interest to Parkinson as well but Ange Postecoglou now expects him to be part of Spurs’ first-team squad in 2024/25.
More recently, the Red Dragons turned to Sheffield Wednesday to try and improve their attacking ranks.
Bailey Cadamarteri and Michael Smith were both of interest to Wrexham, but the club have now been dealt a blow in the pursuit of the former.
As per journalist Joe Crann on X/Twitter, League One outfit Lincoln City are in talks to sign Cadamarteri on loan for the season.
He wrote: “Reported earlier this month that Lincoln City were one of a number of teams keen on #SWFC’s Bailey Cadamarteri…
“Now understand that negotiations are underway for him to join the Imps on loan for the season. Would be a good move.”
Who will Wrexham sign instead of Bailey Cadamarteri
Wrexham have been dealt a blow on the Cadamarteri front, especially now he will be strengthening a rival this season.
But Parkinson must now turn his attention toward signing an alternative option for his club this week.
There is still potential Smith could move to Wales from Sheffield Wednesday but that deal is not thought to be close.
Wrexham were keen on Stephen Humphrys in January and he is now a free agent after being released by Wigan Athletic.
Wrexham were interested in signing Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw last month also but that move now appears to have cooled off.
