Leeds United have had a £13m bid rejected for Sheffield United star Gustavo Hamer ahead of Friday’s 11.30PM deadline, and details are now emerging of talks that took place between the two sides.

Leeds and Sheffield United have often found each other at the negotiating table this summer. Whether it be Jamie Shackleton leaving Leeds on a free to join Chris Wilder’s side, or Jayden Bogle moving to Leeds.

Alfie Gilchrist has joined the Blades on loan after links with Leeds, and it is the same in the case for winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. Now, Leeds are trying to raid Bramall Lane again and lure Hamer to Elland Road.

Reports emerged on Monday that Leeds had seen a £13m bid for Hamer rejected. What Sheffield United have told Leeds to do in Hamer talks

Chris Wilder said prior to the reports that Sheffield United had received two offers, one of which was close and the other “a million miles away”. It is believed the latter was describing Leeds’ bid for Hamer.

Hamer of course, is a massive talent and proven in The Championship . In 126 Championship games for both Coventry and Wilder’s side, he has had a hand in 44 goals from midfield, scoring 19 goals himself.

The Sun’s Alan Nixon reported on his Patreon channel that Sheffield United have told Leeds to return with a second offer, but to increase their initial £13m offer. A release clause in Hamer’s deal has now expired.Gustavo Hamer of Sheffield United during the Premier League match between Everton FC and Sheffield United at Goodison Park on May 11, 2024 in Liver...

Ramazani, Solomon, Aarons and Hamer would be stunning

Going into the final week, Daniel Farke laid out his plans. He wanted replacements for Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville, as well as a goalscoring midfielder and a full-back to provide more depth.

Largie Ramazani is in the building, replacing Summerville. Manor Solomon is set to join on loan from Tottenham on Tuesday, to replace Rutter and Hamer is being targeted to add goals from central midfield.

Max Aarons is also a target for Leeds but The Whites do face competition for Aarons from two Serie A clubs. But if Leeds pulled all four off, it would be absolutely incredible business in the final few days.
