Leicester setting all charges to sue Everton for £100m if the foxes are relegated

Leicester City will reportedly sue Everton for £100 million if the Foxes get demoted from the Premier League this season and the Toffees remain in the top flight.

According to the Daily Mail, if City is demoted, they will join forces with the two other relegated clubs to sue Everton for a total of £300 million.

According to reports, Leicester, Southampton (who have already been demoted), Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, and Burnley have informed the Premier League that they believe they are entitled to compensation from Everton if they are found to have violated spending restrictions.

Everton was charged in March with alleged spending irregularities and is awaiting a disciplinary hearing.

Leicester and the other four clubs are alleged to have been rebuffed in a request for that disciplinary case to be expedited so that any consequences, including a possible points deduction, might be imposed on Everton this season.

While the five clubs have joined forces at this point, it is stated that the £300 million claim will only be pursued by clubs that are relegated at the end of the season, assuming Everton stays up.

Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, may file a second lawsuit.

Leicester and Leeds are now in the relegation zone, with Southampton’s relegation already confirmed.

Everton, who deny any wrongdoing, are one point above the drop zone in 17th place, while Forest are three points clear in 16th place, with two games remaining.
