Fans celebrates as two key player return back in full fit to face Newcastle United

The latest on Kelechi Iheanacho, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, Caglar Soyuncu, and Danny Ward as the club prepares for their penultimate Premier League encounter of the season.

Leicester City are expecting to have two players back in their squad for their trip to Newcastle next Monday, when their Premier League status could be at stake.

Kelechi Iheanacho was set to return to training this week following a groin rupture suffered at Leeds, with the Nigerian reacting well to therapy and healing faster than expected.

City would benefit greatly from his comeback, since Iheanacho was performing admirably prior to his injury. The club would ideally like him to resume up where he left off, since victory at Newcastle could be required to avoid relegation if results go against them this weekend.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, who missed the 3-0 loss to Liverpool due to an ankle injury, is another player who could return. Manager Dean Smith stated that the issue has plagued the homegrown midfielder since his arrival, and that an injection was required to alleviate the agony. If he responds well, he may be able to return in time.

Dewsbury-Hall was one of the three players that had their injury announced on Monday, along with Caglar Soyuncu, who hurt his hamstring in training, and Danny Ward, who has dislocated a finger.

Smith stated during Monday’s game, “Soyuncu’s (injury) occurred on Saturday.” He felt a tug in his hamstring after having a scan. It’s not a major injury, but he won’t be available for the Newcastle game.

“KDH has been dealing with an ankle problem since we arrived. He felt it was too painful to continue. He’s scheduled for an injection (on Tuesday), so perhaps that will solve the problem. Wardy’s finger was dislocated.”

Jannik Vestergaard has been ruled out for the season with a calf injury, and James Justin is ineligible after being left out of City’s 25-man Premier League squad.
