Newcastle United are allegedly interested in signing the Northern Ireland midfielder who is leaving Manchester United.
Manchester United midfielder Ethan Galbraith disclosed his departure from Old Trafford in an emotional social media message.
The contract of the 21-year-old will expire this summer, and the Red Devils have declined the option of initiating a 12-month extension. They believed there was no likelihood of recouping a big sum from Galbraith, whose pay would have grown had the extension been granted.
Galbraith joined Manchester United at the age of 15 from Linfield and went through the youth ranks. In November 2019, he made his lone senior debut, coming off the bench in a 2-1 Europa League loss to Astana.
“After 6 years, my time has come to an end with this magnificent club @manchesterunited,” Galbraith wrote on Instagram. “I’d like to thank the club, coaching staff, and players for helping me become a better player and person, as well as for making me feel at home.”

Newcastle United, according to our sister publication ManchesterWorld, are among those interested in the Northern Ireland teenager. If he moves to St James’ Park, he will very certainly be loaned out next season.
Galbraith spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Salford City, where he scored four goals in 38 games. The player also spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Doncaster Rovers, where he appeared 36 times.
Championship clubs Stoke City and Sunderland, as well as League One outfit Derby County, are all keeping an eye on his status, though no definite bids have been made. Galbraith is said to want a move that will allow him to play regular first-team football at this stage of his career.
