Tottenham have had a wretched 2023 season thus far, with plenty of drama in N17, and an update regarding Kieran Trippier only adds salt to the wounds.
Spurs fans were forced to watch helplessly as Antonio Conte ripped into Tottenham multiple times before Daniel Levy ousted him, and Fabio Paratici also left after being suspended by FIFA for false accounting.
A piece of news about Kieran Trippier, as previously stated, offers further insight on Tottenham’s inefficiency.
Tottenham transferred Trippier to Atlético Madrid for £20 million in July 2019.
It came during a trying era for the England international in north London, with supporters rallying behind him after a succession of lackluster performances, as conceded by the player himself.
Nonetheless, there was no disputing Trippier was one of England’s best right-backs, as seen by his candidacy for Premier League Player of the Season.
The 32-year-old has driven Newcastle into third place this season with his consistently excellent performances, scoring one goal and contributing six assists in 35 Premier League games.
Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Harry Kane, Martin degaard, Bukayo Saka, and Marcus Rashford are all on the shortlist.
Tottenham is embarrassed by Trippier’s success.
Tottenham should be embarrassed to see Trippier excel for a team four places above them in the Premier League, while Daniel Levy has spent millions attempting – and failing – to replace him.
Tottenham have spent £25.8 million on Emerson Royal, £12.5 million on Djed Spence, and £39 million on Pedro Porro since the Bury-born defender left the club.
Of course, the trio has time on their side to become successful at Tottenham, as none of them are older than 24.
However, none are better than Trippier at the moment, and concerns must be addressed about Tottenham’s team management.
