The Telegraph claims that Leeds United will offload players this summer, and that selling the quintet of Tyler Adams, Brenden Aaronson, Willy Gnonto, Illan Meslier, and Patrick Bamford could fetch more than £100 million.
If Leeds get relegated, which is now more likely than unlikely, there will be significant changes at the club. Leeds has anticipated this and is acting accordingly, with the board putting in contingency measures for the decline.
According to The Telegraph, every Leeds player has a clause in their contract that allows them to lower their salaries by up to 50%. That is enormous in and of itself. However, player sales must increase to compensate for the loss of TV revenue.
Wages will fall, but so will income and revenue. Players will want to get out. Adams, Gnonto, and Meslier have all been linked, and The Telegraph reports that together with Aaronson and Bamford, Leeds would earn £100 million or more.

Gnonto, Meslier, and Adams are unquestionably the most marketable assets heading into the summer window. The club should demand at least £30 million for all three. Aaronson has not impressed, and there will be little interest in him.
Before the last fortnight, you’d think Bamford would stay even if we went down. However, in response to criticism, he canceled his Twitter account. Then, after missing a penalty, the £7 million star and his family were threatened with death.
So, after a turbulent season, Bamford may be looking for a way out. Weston McKennie will be released, as would other players in the event of relegation, including Rodrigo, Luis Sinisterra, Marc Roca, and others. It’s going to be a rocky voyage.
