This past summer, Leeds United lost Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur, but one report reveals that the young standout isn’t the only Gray who could be leaving The Whites for London.
Gray played in 52 matches for Leeds last season, notching up two assists. Despite being young, he demonstrated his versatility by stepping in as a right-back and taking on various midfield roles throughout the campaign.
The teenager’s performance last season caught the eye of several Premier League clubs. With Daniel Farke and his team failing to secure promotion, it was no surprise that top-flight clubs came circling.
Eventually, Gray went to Spurs for reportedly about £30 million and signed a contract with the London-based club until 2030.
Tottenham want another Gray from Leeds United
After securing Archie, TBR Football reported on Wednesday, citing sources, that the north London side have already informed Leeds they would like to sign his younger brother, Harry Gray.
Additionally, the report states that the north London club has already let Leeds know they’re interested in signing the 15-year-old striker. Nonetheless, Spurs aren’t the only Premier League club attempting to lure the younger Gray away from Leeds.
TBR Football’s report also shows that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle United are all highly interested in the promising young talent.
Though Gray won’t turn 16 until next month, he’s already making waves in the U18 Premier League, scoring eight goals in just 11 appearances.
In a recent interview, transfer expert Graeme Bailey expressed his sympathy for Leeds fans, saying he felt really gutted about losing Gray, especially given the player’s potential.
“Losing someone who could’ve been the head of a golden generation at Leeds,” Bailey told LeedsUnited.News in an exclusive interview. “With Red Bull’s deal, did Leeds really need to lose Gray? I am not convinced and I am gutted for Leeds fans. There will be some younger Leeds fans who won’t even realise he’s not a right back. He could be the new Steven Gerrard, he’s that good.”
Losing the younger Gray, who appears to have great potential would be another gut punch to Leeds, especially if they can’t secure promotion to the Premier League soon.
