Tottenham Hotspur are planning a double attack on Feyenoord to acquire striker Santiago Gimenez and manager Arne Slot, according to a recent report by 90min.
According to the Daily Mail, Arne Slot, who led Feyenoord to their first league title since 2017, is set to be named Tottenham’s new manager. Negotiations are ongoing, and Spurs may be required to pay a £6 million release clause to obtain Slot’s services.
Meanwhile, 90min reports that Tottenham Hotspur have joined a growing list of clubs interested in signing Santiago Gimenez. The North London club is thought to be watching the striker ahead of the summer transfer window, although they will be up against Aston Villa, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Leicester City. Several European clubs have expressed interest in Gimenez, including Lille, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Napoli.
The 22-year-old has been instrumental in Feyenoord’s league triumph this season, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 31 appearances. Gimenez has made an immediate impression since joining the club last summer, scoring 28 goals in all competitions.
Tottenham’s pursuit of Gimenez comes amidst uncertainties surrounding Harry Kane’s future and Richarlison’s challenging first season at the club. Additionally, the departure of Lucas Moura this summer will further highlight the need for a new striker at Spurs
While the report claims believe that Gimenez would benefit from staying in the league for another year, the potential appointment of Arne Slot as Tottenham’s manager might entice the young striker to join Spurs and continue playing under the manager with whom he has excelled this season
