Tottenham Hotspur’s long hunt for a new manager appears to be coming to a conclusion, with rumors claiming that Feyenoord’s Arne Slot will take over the club in the summer.
The North London team has been without a permanent manager since March, when Antonio Conte was fired after a violent argument with the players and club administration.
Since then, they’ve been associated with a number of managers, including Julian Naglesmann, Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, Ruben Amorim, and Vincent Kompany.
However, it appears that they have now decided to hire Arne Slot, who is well-liked within Spurs.
With Slot’s impending arrival, a massive squad revamp is on the horizon as the Dutchman seeks to rebuild the team and lift it to the level of premier teams.
According to the Daily Express, ‘at least seven players’ could go this summer, in addition to the unclear future of star striker Harry Kane.
According to the article, if Spurs appoint Slot, which is ‘increasingly likely,’ his major duty will be the summer rebuild, which may begin with 7 players departing the club.
Lucas Moura’s contract is scheduled to expire, thus he is expected to leave. Tottenham has already confirmed his exit.
Hugo Lloris is another star who is expected to go. He has been an excellent servant to the club for nearly a decade. However, with age catching up with him and making him more prone to errors and injuries, the Spurs are set to part ways with him. Al-Hilal, a Saudi club, has reportedly given him an offer that will increase his salary, while the London club has already begun the search for his replacement.
Arnaut Danjuma, who signed on loan earlier this season, has failed to make an impact and is also expected to leave. Davinson Sa, Japhet Tanganga
Other players whose futures at the club are unknown include Alexis Sanchez, Ivan Perisic, and Eric Dier.
Aside from the players identified in the report, Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, with his former manager Unai Emery keen in rejoining with him.
Harry Winks is another one who is now on loan at Sampdoria, where he has gone on to become one of their important players this season after a poor start. While he is set to return to Spurs in the summer and wants to impress the new manager, he is extremely unlikely to be a Spurs player next season.
