Fans in tears as star player appears to say good-bye to St James’ Park after last match

Despite not playing for Newcastle United at St James’ Park, Loris Karius was given the opportunity to sayc.

As Newcastle United players and staff soaked up the post-match acclaim from the St James’ Park fans on Monday evening, the outpouring of love will have meant even more to a select few who knew it won’t happen again. Eddie Howe has previously stated that he will have to say emotional goodbyes to some beloved members of his dressing room this summer.

Loris Karius is one of those who are anticipated to leave the club when his contract ends in the summer. The goalkeeper, who joined Newcastle as an emergency substitute for Karl Darlow earlier this season, will leave having played only one game – the Magpies’ first cup final since the turn of the millennium.

Despite failing to make a single Premier League appearance, Karius took his place among the Newcastle players and staff at full-time following the Leicester tie and appeared to say his farewell to the supporters who supported him at Wembley Stadium. The German was accompanied by his TV presenter partner Diletta Leotta, who is expecting their first child later this year.

Leotta has already stated her choice for Karius’ next move, previously confessing that she wants the 29-year-old to be closer to her home country of Italy. “Would I wish to be closer to (Karius)? “Yes, selfishly,” Leotta said to Gazzetta dello Sport. “However, I wish him the best of luck in his career.”

“I don’t deny that seeing him play close me would be good. Perhaps in and around Milan, Lombardy, or Liguria. In brief, we can go throughout Northern Italy, as well as to the center and south. It’d be far more pleasant than Newcastle.”

Karius’ Newcastle career may not have gone as planned after failing to win the Carabao Cup earlier this year, but the goalkeeper has rebuilt his reputation following a catastrophic conclusion to his Liverpool tenure.

“It’s good to remind people that I’m still here and have a lot to offer.” “I’m not surprised because I know that about myself, but people sometimes forget or have the wrong picture of you,” he said earlier this season to the club’s official outlets.

“As a result, I think it was good.” But I’m not surprised because I work hard every day, something most people don’t notice. It finally pays off because football provides you a chance, an opportunity. Sometimes it takes a little longer, and sometimes it’s always the same.
