RUMOURED TRANSFER: OSCAR MBO TO KAIZER CHIEFS’ DECKS?

With an illustrious career spanning years, Oscar Mbo has fast become one of the most sought-after DJs in South Africa.

He has headlined several shows worldwide and has worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment and business world.

Oscar Mbo is making headlines against the backdrop of his set at FNB Stadium over the weekend. Kaizer Chiefs lost to Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in one of PSL’s biggest showdowns.

Judging from the now-viral photos, the star had a set before the game. He also had the privilege to tour the facility.

However, Kaizer Chiefs’ head of marketing, Jessica Motaung, also gifted the DJ with a customised jersey.

In one of the now viral photos, he was seen on a table full of papers, and Mzansi was quick to conclude that the club had tagged him as one of their DJs before matches.

Against the rumours, Oscar Mbo and the club have yet to confirm the news. However, Oscar Mbo joins a host of South African celebrities who have worked with Kaizer Chiefs in recent years.

Uncle Vinny and Skeem Saam actress Clement Maosa are some celebrities who have worked with the club.

A NEW GLOBAL TREND

Over the years, several clubs across the globe have added DJs and musicians to their roasters to entertain fans before matches and other club events.

No doubt, South Africa hasn’t been spared from the global trend. Teams like Mamelodi Sundowns have since embraced the new norm.

Some notable names that have worked with the club include Peter “Mashata” Mabuse.

However, the celebrated comedian, DJ, radio personality and MC, who was also popularly known as a stadium announcer at Mamelodi Sundowns home matches, was gunned down in Soshanguve in April.
