Fabrizio Romano drop fresh update as Nottingham Forest set to complete new signing in few time

Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing Dean Henderson from Manchester United. The Reds loaned out the 26-year-old throughout the 2022/23 season, and a return is expected.

Henderson will be visiting the City Ground, according to Fabrizio Romano, who spoke to The United Stand. For all intents and purposes, he appears to be the club’s first summer signing.

Forest desperately needs a new goalie.Henderson took over for Brice Samba last summer, and after suffering a thigh injury in January, he was replaced by Keylor Navas, who joined from PSG.

Forest has remained a Premier League club, and this summer’s recruitment will need to be more thorough. With that in mind, signing Henderson on a long-term contract appears to be a prudent decision.

Romano appears to have confirmed that a transaction is nearing completion. He’s been chatting with The United Stand and has said that all that is needed now is the legalities to be completed.

“This is getting close,” he said. This has been discussed for two or three weeks between Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, and the player’s agents.

“The player wishes to go. Manchester United wants to accept that proposition, therefore I believe it’s just a matter of time before the final details are worked out and Dean Henderson has a real opportunity to join Nottingham Forest.

“I’m told it’s not done yet, but it could be very, very soon.”

This would be a fantastic way to kick off the summer transfer window. Forest would strengthen in an area that needed it, and Henderson, at 26 years old, might be a star for years to come.

Tottenham had previously been linked with a bid for Henderson. Finally, it appears that the guy with one England cap has pushed for a permanent move to the City Ground.

It’s astonishing that Forest are competing for players of this caliber. The great midfielder made 20 appearances for the Reds last season, preserving six clean sheets.

This will make Mark Crossley very happy. He recently stated in an interview that Henderson was “excellent” and that he’d love to see the Reds sign him.
