WHAT THEY SAID: Kane could be targeted in a €100 million-plus (£86 million/$107 million) deal, with former Real captain Ramos telling The Mirror about a possible move to Spain for the England captain: “My advice to any player is don’t turn down the opportunity to play for Real Madrid – it is a special club who know how to win.” Kane has an amazing physical presence; you can’t score as many goals in the Premier League and not be able to play the physical game. But he can also play the technical part of the game, which I believe is underappreciated.
Yes, he is a fantastic goal scorer, but he is also a great football player.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Ramos, who won 22 trophies with Real during his 16-year tenure, emphasized the importance of whoever Madrid brings in this summer embracing the pressure of following in Benzema’s footsteps: “He [Benzema] has contributed to so much success with Real Madrid you will never be able to replace him – he is one of those players who is unique in Madrid’s history.” What you do need to do is bring in a quality forward capable of scoring goals. Because there is so much pressure and expectation, not everyone can play for Real Madrid – it has to be the perfect player.”
