According to Caught Offside, Leeds striker Patrick Bamford could move to the Premier League in the January transfer window. Southampton has been deemed a destination for the English international and an initial loan deal is on the cards.

Bamford is considered an icon at Elland Road but his poor start to the season hasn’t earned him good minutes under Daniel Farke. His injuries last season also had a big impact on The Whites’ campaign.

Farke is very confident in the player and admitted that with his full potential, The 49ers can easily break into the English top flight.

“I’m 100% sure with a fully fit Patrick Bamford, we would be in the Premier League because we missed him in the run-in. It’s no coincidence including point average when he started.”

However, Leeds United might be keen on offloading Bamford considering his salary-to-impact ratio. With the striker earning £70k per week an offload seems imminent looking at the starting order.

Bamford played a key role in The 49ers’ promotion to the Premier League in the 2019-20 season. However, his contributions have been quiet this time around.

The Englishman entered his 30s last season and maybe his prime might already be behind him.

As Patrick Bamford is set for a departure, there are also rumours of a replacement at Elland Road. According to Football FanCast, RB Salzburg forward Adam Daghim has piqued The 49ers’ interest.

The move might be an easy one to facilitate considering both the clubs’ relationship with Red Bull. The Austrian conglomerate owns the Salzburg-based outfit while holding a minority state in Leeds United.

The 19-year-old’s price tag has been set at £5 million and The Whites are keen on getting their hands on the winger to bolster their attacking options after Bamford’s departure.
