Kaizer Chiefs are truly on the up under the new head coach Nasreddine Nabi. New reports say the Amakhosi hierarchy have bumped up the cheese for January transfer spending.
KAIZER CHIEFS JANUARY SPENDING MONEY
As previously confirmed by the coach, the club had set a certain amount of money for new players in the upcoming January transfer window.
“I think in October we are not playing a game. So, we have November and December, and then the transfer window opens on 1 January,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach said at a press conference after September’s win over Marumo Gallants.
“I have three months to scout for the quality (striker) I need.
“Thanks to the owners and the committee because they have given me an open budget. But I don’t want to waste the money,” the Tunisian added.
NEW BUDGET
According to new reports, Kaizer Chiefs bosses have increased the budget for January in support of Thembela ‘Tera’ Maliwa’s new appointment as Head of Scouting and Recruitment.
“Things are changing bit by bit because the head of scouting has the say in the signing of players who he feels will fit into the Kaizer system of play and that’s why the budget is available again,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“You know some of the players he has already identified may not have been on the list at the start of the season, and that needed a new budget.
“That is why management and the Sporting Director (Kaizer Motaung Jr) have agreed to a new budget for the Head of Scouting which will help acquire the players he will recommend from January going forward.”
