Leeds United tipped to sign Premier League star

This summer Leeds United lost Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Georginio Rutter. This left huge shoes to fill in the club’s midfield heading into the season.

Daniel Farke tried to resolve that, with the additions of Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell. The return of Brenden Aaronson to the team has also helped, but it looks like needs still need a spark in midfield.

Gray and Rutter gave the team a lot of creativity and chance creation from midfield last season. Farke was desperate to keep Rutter, and after he left, the German coach pushed for a move for Sheffield United midfielder Gus Hamer. The deal never progressed as the Blades stood firm on their valuation.

To boost the attacking quality in the team, Leeds have turned their attention to the Premier LeagueFLW reports that Bournemouth attacking midfielder David Brooks is on Daniel Farke’s radar.

The player has struggled for playing time this season for the Cherries, Brooks has not started a single Premier League game. He has featured in three games but has averaged 10 minutes every appearance.

Leeds could do with a player like Brooks, the Welsh midfielder spent the end of last season on loan at Southampton. He played 17 games in the Championship, but had 5 assists and created 8 big chances as the Saints secured promotion.

Prospect of playing time will attract David Brooks

The Bournemouth midfielder will jump at the chance for playing time. Last year he took the decision to move on loan to the championship after starting just two games for Bournemouth.

A January move is on the cards for Brooks, who will attract a lot of attention from Championship clubs. The 27-year old will be a good fit tactically under Daniel Farke. Brooks can play in the midfield pivot or as the number 10.

After a string of unfortunate injuries in the Leeds team, Brooks could be the perfect solution. The Bournemouth midfielder offers something different from Brenden Aaronson who often plays as the number 10; Aaronson is the type of midfielder who gets in the box to score and does not provide much creativity. Brooks on the other hand is great in tight spaces and can pass the ball well.

As the January window draws closer, Leeds are reportedly planning moves including an ambitious bid to sign this free agent.
