Key Leicester City duo now walking suspension tightrope vs Man Utd in potential blow to Steve Cooper

Two key Leicester City players are nearing a suspension in the Premier League.

Leicester City’s quest for Premier League survival in the 2024/25 campaign took another drastic turn at the weekend as a late equaliser from Jordan Ayew saw the Foxes hold Ipswich Town to a 1-1 draw.

In a game that saw the hosts go down to 10-men, Leicester City arguably should have turned the game around and come away with all three points, however it is still a step in the right direction from Steve Cooper’s side to deny Ipswich their first Premier League victory of the season.

Leicester City’s next games against Manchester United, Chelsea and Brentford will certainly prove to be stern tests for Cooper’s side, and it could be made that much more difficult as they could be without one-or-two key players for the tricky run of fixtures, which could lead to serious issues for the Foxes boss.

Leicester City could be without key attacking duo soon for upcoming games

The Foxes will without a doubt need to be on top form for their upcoming games if they hope to come away with any victories.

It will be made that much more difficult with the impending suspensions of Leicester City attacking duo Facundo Buonanotte and Ayew. As per the Premier League website, they both currently sit on four yellow cards at this point of the 2024/25 Premier League season, and one more will trigger a one-game ban if it takes place in the opening 19 games of the campaign.

Both Buonanotte and Ayew have been crucial up until this stage of the campaign, with them scoring a combined five goals between them so far.

Leicester City player suspension could seriously deplete attacking firepower

The Foxes haven’t quite been on their best form when it comes to attacking output this season, and it is fairly safe to suggest that some signings haven’t quite hit the ground running at the King Power Stadium.

Whilst Jamie Vardy has been the big difference maker up until this point for the Foxes, Buonanotte and Ayew have also provided a significant impact up until this point and have become mainstays in the starting side as a result.

Without either of the pair, Cooper will certainly have to switch around his options and this could easily disrupt what has been a slightly-improved run of games in front of goal for the Foxes.

Argentinian winger Buonanotte in particular is prone to somewhat letting his frustrations get the better of him, as seen in recent weeks for Leicester City, and a repeat of such actions could easily see Cooper without one key man in the coming weeks.
