Tottenham have no long-term concerns over Ange Postecoglou’s future despite the club’s position in the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk.
The online source reported [11 November] that, while Spurs expect to be challenging for the top-four positions this season, there are no concerns over the manager at Hotspur Way.
Following the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town on Sunday 10 November, Postecoglou’s side sit in tenth after 11 matches, but are only three points behind fourth-place Arsenal.
Tottenham to sack Ange Postecoglou after Ipswich Town defeat?
Despite growing frustrations at Hotspur Way, it is difficult to envisage Daniel Levy taking action over the manager as Spurs continue their rock-and-rollercoaster of a campaign.
The phrase “Spursy” is becoming more and more common, and with defeats to Ipswich and Galatasaray following impressive victories over Manchester City and Aston Villa, it is easy to see why.
Postecoglou’s side also went on a five-game consecutive streak of wins before suffering a 3-2 comeback defeat to Brighton, having rushed into a two-goal lead at the American Express Stadium.
While results may be frustrating for fans, the style of football is certainly far more exciting than what they have been subjected to over the years, under the likes of Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino.
If Levy were to make a drastic decision and sack Postecoglou after 17 months in charge, the main problem would be finding someone who could fill his boots at Hotspur Way.
Of course, Spurs fans want to be battling at the top of the Premier League table, but with Europa League football also to worry about, it is difficult to juggle all of the different competitions.
Postecoglou has the tactics and the quality of players to create a trophy-winning team and Levy is likely to give him more time to prove that, but fans are becoming more frustrated, and rightly so.
