Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi watched Amakhosi in the Home of Legends Cup on television from Johannesburg on Saturday.
KAIZER CHIEFS BEAT MAMELODI SUNDOWNS IN THE HOME OF LEGENDS CUP WITHOUT NASREDDINE NABI
Hours before Amakhosi drew 0-0 with Sundowns before winning the match 5-4 on penalties to win the Home of the Legends Cup in Gqeberha, the club announced that coach Nabi remained in Johannesburg to recover from a minor orthopedic operation.
“This [yesterday] weekend, Kaizer Chiefs will be making their way to Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape for the inaugural Home of Legends Cup tournament at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium,” the club said.
“Notably, the coaching staff will miss Head Coach, Nasreddine Nabi, who is recovering at home after recently undergoing a minor orthopedic operation.
“He is, however, expected to return in time to lead the team for their next league match, against Richards Bay in Polokwane on 27 November,” Kaizer Chiefs concluded.
SAMIR NURKOVIC JOINS SUPERSPORT UNITED
SuperSport United have finally ended their striker search. Former Kaizer Chiefs star Samir Nurkovic will wear the blue colours of the three-time Premier Soccer League champions.
Following his shock exit from TS Galaxy, the 32-year-old Nurkovic has joined United on a one-and-half year deal, thanks to Bradley Grobelar’s long-term injury.
“SuperSport United FC is pleased to announce the signature of Serbian striker Samir Nurković on a one and-a-half year deal. Welcome home, Samir,” the club said.
