Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was a noticeable absentee.

This is because he had to undergo a slight orthopedic surgery.

“In the Head Coach’s absence, assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will take charge of the team to face the Golden Arrows in this weekend’s Home of Legends Cup,” Chiefs confirmed.

So, Chiefs allocated the head role responsibility to Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze on an interim basis. Meaning, both men were tasked when taking charge of Amakhosi’s first team.

Interestingly, they had a successful brief stint in charge of the Soweto giants as they helped lead Chiefs to the Home of Legends Cup. Amakhosi bet PSL rivals, Golden Arrows 2-0 before finally overcoming Mamelodi Sundowns 5-4 on penalties in the final. Finally, beating their rivals on the third attempt following a humbling 4-0 in the Carling Cup a few weeks ago.
