Kolbe was joined on the try-scorers list by scrumhalf Grant Williams and flank Pieter-Steph du Toit.
Kolbe, playing in his 39th Test, moved into a tie for 14th in the overall try-scorers list alongside current team-mate Jesse Kriel.
The pair will in all likelihood get the opportunity to add to their try tallies in the next weekend’s final end-of-year Test against Wales at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Kick-off is at 19:40 (SA time).
One more try will see them tie Danie Gerber and Stefan Terblanche.
In addition to his 18 tries, Kolbe has also landed three conversions and five penalties in the green and gold jersey, putting his total Test points at 111.
Meanwhile, Grant Williams’s try was his fourth in what was his 17th Test, while Pieter-Steph du Toit dotted down for his 12th try in his 86th Test.
