Wrexham will move on quickly from Saturday’s defeat at Stockport County as Phil Parkinson looks ahead to facing Exeter City.
Saturday brought another troublesome away day for Wrexham.
Phil Parkinson and co headed to Edgeley Park for yet another meeting with Stockport after a host of battles in recent years.
Wrexham and Stockport have been fighting each other in promotion races in the National League, League Two and now potentially League One.
Stockport defender Callum Connolly has highlighted the rivalry with Wrexham and County claimed bragging rights this time around.
Louie Barry’s first-half goal secured the win for Stockport, leaving Wrexham with another away defeat.

Wrexham suffer midfield blow
Wrexham were flat going forward and had goalkeeper Callum Burton to thank for keeping Stockport at bay for most of the game.
Parkinson has hailed Burton’s performance and the goalkeeper was arguably the only major positive for Wrexham as he deputised for the injured Arthur Okonkwo.
There weren’t many more positives for Wrexham to take and Parkinson suffered a blow with Andy Cannon picking up another yellow card.
Cannon was booked against his former club on the cusp of half time and has now been booked five times in 14 League One outings this season.
That booking means Cannon must now serve a one-match suspension in League One, meaning he will miss Saturday’s clash with Exeter City.
The 28-year-old has been a key part of Parkinson’s midfield ever since arriving at Wrexham and his absence will be keenly felt against the Grecians.
Who could replace Andy Cannon?
Wrexham play with a midfield three and two players are almost guaranteed to start under Parkinson.
George Dobson and Elliot Lee are key players and will usually start whenever fit and available.
Cannon will now miss out against Exeter and Parkinson will be looking at his options to replace him at the STōK Cae Ras.
Ollie Rathbone will be the favourite to start as the summer signing from Rotherham United looks to really kickstart his Wrexham career.
Rathbone is far from the only option though with new signing Matty James another option in the engine room.
James impressed Parkinson against Port Vale last week and could come into the thinking.
Josh Adam caught Parkinson’s eye as well but it may be too soon for the former Manchester City talent to start in League One.
We would expect Rathbone to get the nod in midfield with Cannon out, but Parkinson will have plenty to think about this week.
