Wrexham drew a blank at Stockport County on Saturday afternoon and may move to sign a new goalscorer during the January transfer window.
Wrexham headed away to Edgeley Park on Saturday afternoon in the hope of a big away win over Stockport County.
Instead, Wrexham were beaten 1-0 as Louie Barry’s first-half goal proved to be the winner for the hosts.
Phil Parkinson was impressed with Callum Burton but the goalkeeper’s performance was one of very few positives for Wrexham.
Just one shot on target simply isn’t good enough and Wrexham can’t expect major success this season with this kind of attacking output.
Wrexham target returns as striker bid planned
Wrexham’s striking ranks are in flux at the moment with Jack Marriott out until 2025 and Steven Fletcher suffering an injury setback.
New signing Jon Dadi Bodvarsson isn’t exactly a goalscorer and Modou Faal is still a project, so there is so much pressure on Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer for goals.
Reports now claim that Wrexham are ready to spend on a new striker in January – and a goalscorer with Championship experience is the ideal signing.
Wrexham will have a number of targets in mind and Millwall’s Tom Bradshaw is surely one of them.
Wrexham were linked with Bradshaw back in July but no deal was done.
Bradshaw picked up a significant injury to keep him out of the start of the season – and shut down transfer rumours.
Yet just as Wrexham seemingly plan to sign a striker, Bradshaw has made his return to action for Millwall.
The 32-year-old returned to action against Stoke City before the international break, making his first appearance in nearly three months.
Bradshaw’s return is a boost for Millwall but may also leave Wrexham looking into a January move again, especially as the Welshman will likely play a number of Championship games ahead of the transfer window.

Millwall may be tempted to cash in on Tom Bradshaw
Bradshaw is out of contract at the end of the season and may well leave The Den on a free transfer.
It’s unclear whether Millwall plan to offer Bradshaw a new deal, but Wrexham putting cash on the table in January could be very tempting.
The Lions would have to weigh up taking the money in January or allowing Bradshaw to run down his deal.
Bradshaw hails from nearby Shrewsbury and a move to Wrexham could appeal on a personal level for the striker.
A proven Championship striker with an expiring contract and history as a Welsh international, Bradshaw would make so much sense as a January target – especially now he is back from injury.
