Head coach Rassie Erasmus has named his team for the Springboks’ final Test of the year against Wales
Perhaps the most significant change from the team that won 29-20 against England is the inclusion of the Hendrikse brothers, Jaden and Jordan, who are the starting halfbacks.
Elsewhere, Erasmus has kept his backline intact for a second week in a row with Aphelele Fassi at fullback, Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Lee Arendse on the wings, and Damian de Allende and Jesse Kriel at centre.
There are some changes in the pack, with Johan Grobbelaar starting in the No 2 jumper and Thomas du Toit returning at tighthead prop. Ox Nche, who left the field in the 34th minute against England with a cut above his knee, has recovered sufficiently to start at loosehead prop.
Franco Mostert and Jean Kleyn are the new lock pairing, while the loose trio comprises Jasper Wiese at No 8 and Elrigh Louw and skipper Siya Kolisi on the flanks.
Dynamic Bulls loose forward Cameron Hanekom will earn his first cap for South Africa from the bench, which also includes last week’s starters Eben Etzebeth and RG Snyman covering at lock. Malcolm Marx is the reserve hooker, while Gerhard Steenekamp and Vincent Koch are the replacement props.
The veteran halfback pair of Cobus Reinach and Handre Pollard are also on the bench.
Saturday’s match kicks off at 19:40.
