Just in: Daniel Farke shares what Josuha Guilavogui did in the dressing room before Leeds’ win over Swansea

Josuha Guilavogui has already turned into quite the dressing room leader since his free transfer to Leeds United.

Guilavogui made his third appearance from the bench since moving to Elland Road in Leeds’ incredible 4-3 stoppage time victory away at Swansea City.

Heading into the game, Leeds knew a win would take them to the top of the Championship after draws for both Sunderland and Sheffield United on Saturday, and were eventually able to do so thanks to Wilfried Gnonto’s winner.

Guilavogui had actually been brought on with the score at 3-2 to help shore up proceedings, but such was the nature of the game, there was plenty of late drama still to come.

Ao Tanaka and Dan James were Leeds’ star performers on the day, with the latter providing an impressive hattrick of assists against his former club.

Farke reveals Guilavogui dressing room speech ahead of Leeds win

Throughout Leeds’ search for a free agent midfielder, Daniel Farke repeatedly stressed the importance of finding the right character.

And based off Guilavogui’s first month at the club, it appears as though they could not have found anyone better.

Guilavogui shared some of the advice he has given Mateo Joseph in recent weeks, but it was the whole team he helped inspire to victory at Swansea.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Farke revealed how Guilavogui took on the responsibility of delivering a speech to the rest of the squad.

Guilavogui is said to have spoken of the importance of Leeds getting back on track away from home, which looks as though it did the trick.

Farke said: “Guilavogui was there before the game before the speech to make sure everyone is on it and needs to win away games. Important. He hasn’t started much, but he took that responsibility to inspire the lads. Says a lot about the character of this team.”

Guilavogui already Leeds’ new cult hero

Leeds had plenty of cult hero figures in the dressing room during their last promotion campaign and Guilavogui looks like he could be his teams.

He has taken no time at all to settle into the role Farke has given him, and judging off his interactions with teammates on the pitch and on social media, he is already very popular.

It is clear just how grateful he is to have been given this opportunity and that is reflected by the determination he is showing to be apart of a potential Leeds promotion winning team.
