Leicester made a thorough search for a new man in the summer, landing on Steve Cooper, with several other candidates identified.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was a name largely linked, but fell out during the race, later being named assistant at Man Utd. He is said to be the one hitting all the buttons, including wage demands, as well showing his best in his short interim period in charge at Man Utd.
Leicester need to act fast with also Hamburg eager to appoint their former player in their vacant manager seat.
At this point no other candidate looks to be in the picture, having the former Man Utd man as their first priority.
if the parties cannot find an agreement Leicester will turn to other names, but then the appointment process could drag out and Ben Dawson could be in charge over a longer period of time.
