There’s mixed news on the injury and suspension front for Kaizer Chiefs as they prepare to tackle Polokwane City on Sunday.

Frosler and Miguel suspended

Amakhosi must do without suspended right-back Reeve Frosler after his recent red card against Richards Bay so Dillan Solomons should continue to deputise. Angolan star Miguel returns after suspension to boost Nasreddine Nabi’s options at the back. Controversy surrounds Gaston Sirino’s situation at the club with the Uruguayan allegedly refusing to train and even feigning injury. With those distractions, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see him taken out of the firing line. Ashley du Preez and Wandile Duba, goal-scorers against Royal AM, should retain their places.

“He needs time for adaptation – not only to the football but also the atmosphere. I think he wants to give his maximum for Kaizer Chiefs, sometimes it is too much!” said Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi on Miguel recently.

“But he has personality, I love this guy! He has promised me he will be more careful.”

What did Polokwane coach Mohafe say?

“They are a serious threat, they play on transition (and with a) lot of long balls,” said Mohafe, according to iDiski Times.

“I think it’s a match that we need the most because we know how to play with teams that are playing that way, I think we will do better against them.”

Predicted Kaizer Chiefs XI vs Polokwane

Ntwari; Solomons, Miguel, Dortley, Cross; Mthethwa, Blom; Duba, Shabalala, Mmodi; Du Preez.

Kickoff is on Sunday 08 December at 15:30.

Upcoming Fixtures

After a disappointing 2-2 draw with Royal AM after holding a 2-0 lead, Amakhosi will be a bit deflated. Here’s what’s in store for Nabi’s side in the coming weeks, with Thatayaone Ditlhokwe hoping to play some part. The 26-year-old has helped steer his nation Botswana to Afcon 2025 in Morocco, their first participation at the showpiece in 12 years and only the second in their history.
