David Moyes advice West Ham to break the banks to sign Declan Rice perfect replacement

West Ham had a roller-coaster season that finished in the best conceivable way, with the club winning the Europa Conference League title.

Not long ago, their Premier League status was seriously jeopardized, with many fans fearing the worse.

However, manager David Moyes led the team to safety before assisting them in winning major European trophies for the first time in a long time.

However, things appear to be taking another turn in East London this summer, with club captain Declan Rice on the verge of leaving the London Stadium.

It’s been a long time coming, but the midfielder is on the verge of joining London rivals Arsenal for £92 million [The Telegraph, 8 June].

But a ready-made replacement could already be on the way, according to ExWHUemployee, who claims that the Hammers have begun talks with Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez about a move to East London.

The Mexican would have large shoes to fill in the center of the pitch at the London Stadium, but he is a player West Ham should go all out to sign in their best effort to replace Rice.

The 25-year-old has plenty of big-game experience from his time at Ajax, and he understands what it’s like to compete for silverware after winning two Eredivisie titles with his current side.

The Netherlands team will be sad to lose their midfield master, but they have demonstrated time and again that they can quickly find a good successor for their departing talents.

If Rice does leave, West Ham should have plenty of money to spend, with Alvarez promised regular playing time at a Premier League club that is now set to play in the Europa League next season after winning the Europa Conference League.

Another plus for the Hammers is that Alvarez is capable of dropping into center defense, which is an incredible asset in today’s game. It’s no wonder that his former Ajax teammate Lisandro Martinez described him as “fantastic” after the Argentine left for Manchester United [Voetbal International, July 27, 2022].
