According to reports, Siya Kolisi wants a Stormers reunion months after rejoining the Sharks following a short, strenuous stint at Racing 92.

The Springbok captain’s motives behind the transfer request are heavily linked to family matters; having recently endured a public divorce with Rachel, Kolisi left his family in Cape Town to join Durban’s Sharks three years ago.

Now, the father of two is eager to return to the Stormers, with whom he has 118 caps, to be closer to his kids during their schooling years.

You can’t blame Kolisi for putting family first, but whether the Sharks will give the green light is a different story.

However, they’re likely to have a choice on the matter, meaning it’s up to the Stormers whether they want the Springbok captain back.

URC Chiefs praises South Africa’s impact

URC Chief Martin Anayi will be pleased to see Kolisi back in the URC, recently praising South African teams impact on the league, saying, “[They have] been tremendously successful in terms of performance and attendance, as well as financially and commercially,

“Pretty much anybody you speak to in the league will say they have raised the standard of the competition on and off the field and they will continue to do that.

“It’s a game changer. It’s millions, more than half our revenue comes from South Africa via television and sponsorship.

“They are also providing more value to EPCR, via Investec’s sponsorship of the Champions Cup. It is a huge part of the rugby economy for Europe.

Do you think Kolisi should move to the Stormers?
